Biographical Sketch of Mrs. Mignonette Fisher: The Dollhouse Creator
Mignonette Fisher, formerly known as Mignonette Dick of Kingston, Pennsylvania, was born on February 27, 1895 and resided in Kingston for most of her life until 1948 when she took up residence in Dallas, Pennsylvania. Her father, Alexander Dick, was part of "Fowler, Dick, and Walker," a chain of department stores that were also known as The Boston Store in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Mignonette attended the Wilkes-Barre Institute, Wyoming Seminary, and National Park College located in Forest Glen, Maryland. She was an active community member, participating in committees for the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Luzerne County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Luzerne County Planned Parenthood Association, and the Visiting Nurse Association. She was also an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilkes-Barre.
She married Dwight K. Fisher in 1920 in Wilkes-Barre and took up residence in Kingston, before they moved to Dallas in 1936.
